Taking on The Cost of Living
Prices are up, paychecks aren’t keeping pace, and too many families are being asked to do more with less. The cost of housing, food, healthcare, utilities, and childcare is squeezing the middle class and pushing working people to the edge. It doesn’t have to be this way.
That’s why I will work to strengthen enforcement of laws against price gouging, especially for prescription drugs and fuel. Support raising the minimum wage and tying it to inflation, so working families can keep up. Expand access to affordable childcare and lower the cost of eldercare. Reduce medical costs by supporting more community clinics and cracking down on surprise billing. Help local government offer targeted property tax relief for working homeowners.
We need smart, common sense-based solutions — not politics — to bring down the costs and begin building an economy that works for everyone.
